Artist's Comments

A scratch board image that I did for my materials and techniques class. The requirements were for 3 panels depicting a simple story. However, we had to incorporate at least 4 elements from a given list. I chose the following: rain, street lamp, lantern, sidewalk, buildings, and puddle.

I was trying for a kind of humor when I started, but while I was making it I kept feeling that maybe the image of the lantern filled with water would be really morbid. But once I finished it, I think it went back toward the funny end of the spectrum again.
